Check out this little reindeer basket I found at a thrift store for a couple dollars last month. He received a makeover with some white Chalk Paint and I used gold gilded wax on the antlers! This was my first time using gold wax and I love it!! I just did the front of the antlers and sanded around the edges. He also has a new red jingle bell nose 🙂
It was so fun in fact, I decided to paint the ends of a large pinecone I had. I also hot glued some faux berries to make it look like a Christmas tree. What a fun little craft!
He turned out so cute I made him the centerpiece of my dining room table!
I wasn’t going to decorate my table this year, but our home is going to be photographed next week for next year’s December edition of Central Valley Magazine. (Yay I’m excited they will be taking photos of our decorations and my family!)
I will be writing an article about decorating for Christmas and featuring some DIY projects from my home. I’m thinking about including some tips for decorating a classy table on a budget.
The other day I scored some very nice very real looking garland at Michael’s for 70% off. I twisted together a long piece of pine garland and gold leaf garland and used that as a base.
These cool flowers were just a couple dollars each at Michael’s and I added a bunch of gold dollar store decorations and pinecones.
The ruffle table runner I sewed from drop cloth remnants is still my favorite.
l used my white plates and then laid a dollar store door knob hanger across the top. I also added some faux berries inside my napkin holders.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
